Alice’s adventures in Wonderland

Dover Publications, 2011

WHILE most readers know the story of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, not all would have consumed the full text of Alice's many adventures.

This volume gives that complete text alongside 92 illustrated watercolours, many of which are full page.

Harry Rountree is an acknowledged master of quaint drawings in this volume, as well as in Aesop's Fables.

The colours are vibrant, and the figures suggest wickedness and adventure which suit the madcap world that Lewis Carroll portrays.

This hard-covered volume is slightly larger than A4 and reasonably heavy, which suggests that it is designed to be read to young children by an adult.

It has 247 pages in ivory matte.

The print is quite large for a reader of any age, but would clearly fit into the category of a presentation gift or it would be a great edition for a collector.
