Question #8: Queensland local councils now have the choice whether to add fluoride to drinking water supplies, or whether not to depending on the wishes of the local populace. Councils in Cairns, Bundaberg, the Fraser Coast, Cloncurry, Burdekin Shire, North and South Burnett Councils, Doomadgee Aboriginal Council and Tablelands Regional Council believe that the high cost and danger of overdose to children whenever a lot of water is drunk are real negatives and that it is easy for anyone who wants it to get fluoridated toothpaste or get fluoride topically applied by their dentist. Whereas people who don't want it cannot easily avoid it in fluoridated areas. Will your party allow this freedom of choice principal continue, or will your party enforce mandatory fluoridation as did the government of Anna Bligh?
