SOUTH MORETON’S northern cluster of churches held their presbytery young adults service on 31 October at Broadwater Rd Uniting Church in Mansfield, Brisbane.

Service co-organiser Matt Gees said, “The night was about encouraging young adults to discover within themselves ways
to express and pour out their faith.”

Your time is now was the underlying theme of the service which was well attended. Wellers Hill – Tarragindi Uniting Church invited some special guests from Scripture Union, UnitingWorld, The Red Frogs crew, ncyc11 and UCB Australia (United Christian Broadcasters Australia) to show the congregation ways that they could pour out their faith.

Mr Gees said the team hoped to provide avenues for young people to connect with organisations outside their own church.

“We didn’t want the young people to once again be asked to just volunteer for the church,” he said.

“If that’s what they felt God calling them to do … then great!

“But we wanted to show that there was more opportunity bothwithin the Uniting Church andwithin other ministries to do that.

“Every attendee on the nightwas given a word4u2day youth devotional thanks to UCBAustralia and encouraged that if
they already had one to pass it onto a mate.

“We also encouraged them to talk to their ministers and eldersabout how they could do more with their faith.”

Organisers hoped people would be inspired by the event.
