Christian Television Australia announces $25,000 program prize

CHRISTIAN TELEVISION Australia (CTA) today announced details of their Program Development Prize with $25,000
available to produce an Easter TV Special for free-‐to-‐air television.

“Whilst CTA no longer produces weekly programs for the Seven, Nine and TEN Networks, we are able to provide them with
Christmas and Easter Specials,” said CEO, Martin Johnson.

“In association with Christian Media Australia (CMA) and their SPARC initiative to encourage up and coming producers, writers and directors, we are looking for creative program ideas for Easter, 2012,” he said.

“Applicants will need to submit an initial short outline of their program idea, from which we will select the five best and ask
them for a more detailed submission.

All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of experienced television program producers who will work with the final five
to help them bring the best out of their idea,” Martin said.

Full details and an entry form are available on the Christian Television Australia website at: www.christiantelevision.org.au
Entries close at the end of August for first submissions.

Formed in the mid-‐90s through an amalgamation of the former Christian Television Association of NSW and the Christian
Television Association of Queensland, Christian Television Australia now works with a number of production companies to
produce seasonal programming for Australia’s free-‐to-‐air commercial networks.

CTA has also co-‐produced a number of television series in association with Olive Tree Media and Long Road Films.

CTA is also involved as a co-‐producer of Brisbane’s Carols in the City, which this year will air on the TEN Network.

CTA is currently working with Olive Tree Media’s ‘The Family Series’  a 10 part series that looks at issues facing families
from a Christian perspective.

The Family Series is planned for a cable, TV and DVD release later in the year.
