This is certainly an easy-to-use guide for raising healthy, happy children.

Each chapter is complete in itself, making reading practical for busy, frustrated parents.

Healthy Choices, Healthy Children makes everything so easy.

Not only does the book say what children need, it shows simply how to first get them to want it, in a multipronged attack that proceeds ever so softly.

There are chapters on feeding – how, what and when – and how to deal with fractious children who only want chips or ice-cream.

There are tips on how to have takeaway and still get some nutrition, by hiding vegetables in spaghetti and other very useful tricks.

Sleep is important, so dealing with children who want to stay up is covered, surely and simply.

How to join in with exercise and make it fun is among the many useful skills imparted.

My only criticism of this American book is that some of the recipes include items that are readily available in the US but not here.

Any parent or grandparent should read this book at least once. I loved it.
