Liturgies and Prayers Related to Childbearing, Childbirth, and Loss is a selection of liturgies, prayers, laments, and ritual that apply to most aspects of pregnancy and birth, including celebrating pregnancy; providing memorials for pregnancy loss (including pregnancy loss through planned abortion); along with celebrating the safe arrival of a child.

It also provides liturgies and support information regarding adoption, infertility, special needs, and youth pregnancy.

Until recent years, apart from the hotly debated issue of planned abortion, the church on the whole, like society, has been reasonably silent on issues relating to pregnancy – the celebration of and the mourning for.

This book help to unlock that silence through offering real and meaningful services, remembrances, and celebrations for real people who are either celebrating the safe arrival of a baby or who are suffering the grief and anguish of pregnancy loss or infertility.

This book provides full and part liturgies which could be adapted to suit the varying situations that surround pregnancy loss; various options to select from that would enable grieving parents to personalise the remembrance of their child; memorial and celebration ideas and suggestions; and services to allow people to express their gratitude for the safe arrival of their baby, plus a whole lot more.

Liturgies and Prayers Related to Childbearing, Childbirth, and Loss would be a fantastic resource for those in ministry.
It is very user-friendly, having done a lot of the hard work for us, and therefore assists to confidently support and engage people and to journey with people as they walk through these issues in their lives.
