Redruth is a boy band with three members in their mid-twenties: Stephen Heffernan (vocals, guitar, keys) Keith Heffernan (bass, vocals) and Gill Van Mastrigt (drums).
Origins is their latest CD and was released in December 2012.
The most important thing with this band is the lyrics.
Each song covers a different part of scripture.
First Loves talks to us about why we are so distant from God, gently encouraging us back.
One thing I feel is the most powerful, and I quote: "Don't blame God for all that is happening – he came to set things right, not destroy your life. In this world you will have trouble but he will teach you to live free."
The CD includes a booklet with all the lyrics.
This would be useful with a youth group, bringing music that is relevant and current.
The group is from Sydney and are currently being played on Christian broadcasters in Australia, New Zealand, the US and Canada.
