THIS DELIGHTFUL collection of prayers for children is themed around the environment.

The titles of each group of prayers – For Planet Earth, For Creatures Great and Small, For Green and Growing Things, For Peace and Justice, For a World Made New – clearly indicate the direction of the author and make this book a wonderful introduction for children (and adults) to the principles of ecotheology and social justice within a Christian framework.

Ms Piper uses contemporary language that today’s children will relate to and understand.

The illustrations are simple, with loads of colour, and bring a smile to your face.

Most of the illustrations could represent any country, but a few are very non-Australian with deer, squirrels, rabbits and foxes roaming a lush green forest.

For those who want to introduce children to prayer within a simple, current context Prayers for Better World is a must.
