X-Men: The Last Stand

X-Men: The Last Stand
Starring Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry
20th Century Fox recent release
Rated M

X-Men: The Last Stand is the third and apparently final in the X men movies.

Most of the main characters from the previous two movies return (including Patrick Stewart, Halle Berry and Australia’s own Hugh Jackman as the ever popular “Wolverine”) with some new faces to add to the mix including an unrecognisable Kelsey Grammar (Frasier) as Dr Hank McCoy.

Rated M mainly for its strong violence, the plot line follows the X-men as they deal with a supposed cure for their genetic mutation. Some time has obviously passed since the previous movie, with a new US president and even a department of Mutant affairs.

I felt the cast once again performed well as the battle between good and evil takes on a different guise.

This is a great movie for the fans of X-men comics and cartoons and even for those not familiar with the Marvel characters, but not recommended for the entire youth group.

Stick with the M rating as guidance as there are battle scenes and killing shown on the screen.

Overall this could be a great night out for the older sections of your youth group or for the young adults. I highly recommend it, 4 out of 5.
