Church op shop say thanks

THE floods in Laidley in January dealt a severe blow to the Laidley Uniting Church Op Shop which damaged and destroyed 99 per cent of the stock and shop fittings.

On Tuesday, March 8 at 10am all the volunteers who have worked in the Op Shop were invited to morning tea at the QN Hotel.

On this occasion the Shop Management Committee took the opportunity to extend thanks to all those people who offered a helping hand in the aftermath of the flood waters.

Volunteers who worked at the Op Shop in days gone by or helped in the clean up attended.

Graham Welden of Laidley Uniting Church said the rapid clean up was cause to celebrate.

“Through the diligence of everyone involved it allowed the shop to re-open for trade very quickly,” he said.
