Revisiting the story of God’s love

Another year, another Christmas.
Another party, another present.
What’s it all about?

At Indooroopilly Uniting Church you can experience the original Christmas story often described as God’s Love coming in human form among us.

For three nights before Christmas, 17th 18th 19th December, a pageant of actors portraying characters from the streets of Bethlehem where Jesus was born 2000 years ago will enact the events of the days around Jesus birth.

Live animals, a real baby, a cranky innkeeper, haughty soldiers and happy peasants and civilians will be there alongside Mary, Joseph, the shepherds and wise men. You can watch the potter and baker and carpenter at work.

A short video in the church is an option at the end of the short stroll through the lanes of Bethlehem after which you can enjoy a cuppa and Christmas cake.

Enter the “Bethlehem” city gates in Musgrave Rd at the side of the Uniting Church opposite Indooroopilly Shoppingtown, Station Road, Indooroopilly. Gates are open from 6:30 to 8:30pm Wednesday 17th Thursday 18th and Friday 19th.

The event is free and wheelchair accessible. You can be there for as long or as short a time as you like. Tell your friends. This is a great event for the whole family.

Indooroopilly Uniting Church invites you to revisit the story of God’s love come in human form to show us how to live in compassion with our fellow human beings with the help of God’s Spirit. What better start to the festive season and New Year.
