Warwick people were excited about Herman and Millie Stoeckert celebrating their 70th Wedding Anniversary on Sunday 11th March at Warwick with family and friends at a lunch in the Warwick Golf Club.
Herman and Millie were married in the Dorrego Anglican Church on 17th March 1937. They attended the Methodist Church and Uniting Churches throughout their married life.
They have four children, two boys and two girls, thirteen grand children and twenty-four great grand children.
After retiring to the Uniting Church Retirement Village at Buderum, they found the drier climate of Warwick suited their health and still live in their own home in Warwick and are regular worshipers at the Warwick Uniting Church.
They were from dairy farming families at Dorrego and worked the family farm as well as operating corner stores and other businesses in NSW and Queensland.
They worked together all their married life. They have fond memories of life in Candelo, Coffs Harbour, Sydney, Nundah, Mt Gravatt, Binjour, Buderum, Skyring Creek, Kingston, Urunga, Nambour and for the last four years at Warwick.
At one time they also managed a home for underprivileged children for the Brisbane City Mission.
