Worried about your memory

DEMENTIA AWARENESS Week 16-26 September is themed “worried about your memory” and encourages people to seek information if they feel they or a loved one are experiencing memory problems .

Early dementia and mild cognitive impairment does not have to mean the loss of independence in the home and a shift to higher care.

Tunstall offers a range of solutions to assist people with early dementia to remain in their own familiar environment for longer, and to assist those caring for a loved one with dementia.

This could mean the introduction of a single product or a complete package to help manage the risks sometimes associated with dementia.

Tunstall’s smoke alarm notifies the response centre if activated, allowing extra help to be organised.

The flood detector senses excess water on the floor, so running taps can be quickly turned off.

The property exit sensor detects if the resident leaves the home and does not return within a preset time, so they can be quickly found and returned to the home.

The bed sensor can be linked to a lamp to reduce the risk of falls and provide a visual guide back to bed.

Pressure mats can determine movement through the house to ensure the client is active, eating and using the bathroom throughout the day.

Tunstall can provide custom packages to ensure someone living with dementia can maintain their independence for as long as possible and offer support and peace of mind for those caring for a loved one.
