Brisbane Broncos “flip” for a cause

Star Brisbane Broncos players, Karmichael Hunt and Brad Thorn had a flipping fun time today when they helped launch UnitingCare’s annual fund raising event, Pancake Day.

The players were there to support UnitingCare this morning, after a heavy training session, to help create awareness about the work of UnitingCare and the important role they play in the community.

On UnitingCare’s Pancake Day, (Tuesday, 20 February), over 600 businesses, schools, restaurants, community groups and churches around Queensland will cook and sell $2 pancakes to help raise funds for people in need.

Both Karmichael and Brad were happy to help-out because of the community focus of Pancake Day and encouraged everyone to get out into the local community and raise some money for people who need it.

The money raised from Pancake Day goes back into the local community where the Pancake Day events are held and goes towards helping frail and elderly people; families in crisis; vulnerable children and young people; people with disabilities; people without a home and all members of the community who are in need.

If you would like more information on Pancake Day in your local community or would like to register for the UnitingCare Pancake Day Corporate Breakfast, go to www.ucareqld.com.au or call 1800 060 543.
