Called to plant a future – Lent Studies 2007

An all new series of small group study resources is being offered from the Queensland Synod for use by congregations for group study and/or personal reflection during Lent or at some other time during the year.

The Called to plant a future resource is offered to Uniting Church congregations in Queensland as a four-page full colour "lift-out" in the February issue of Journey. The five studies are copyright free for use in congregations and by groups.

The Lenten Studies 2007 are also available now as a PDF file with a 1.3mb download CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD A COPY OF CALLED TO PLANT A FUTURE.

Editor for the series Rev Duncan Macleod said that the theme Called to plant a future links Biblical stories of call and other writings with a series of questions designed to explore the subject of being in Christ’s community.

Mr Macleod explained that the studies connected with the theme of the Lent Appeal, Planting a Future.

He said if used in groups the content and questions in the five sessions are designed in a way that does not necessitate a group having a leader as group members share in facilitating the conversation and encouraging all to participate in the discussions.

“The purpose of the questions is to explore the scripture, the understandings of the people of faith and the theme for the session.”
