Credit Union flies to the rescue

McKay Patrol Minister Rev Garry Hardingham checks out the aircraft maintenance
The McKay Patrol has been awarded a Queensland Country Credit Union Community Grants to the value of $10,000.

The Queensland Country Credit Union, which started in Mt Isa and has an ongoing commitment to rural Queensland, has given the money to help support the Patrol, mostly assisting with air craft repairs and maintenance.

North Queensland Presbytery Chair Rev Bruce Cornish said the grant is much appreciated and will benefit the rural and remote communities serviced by the McKay Patrol aircraft and minister Rev Garry Hardingham.

“The Presbytery and especially the people in Western Queensland are very grateful for the support of the QCCU, who have continued to support the western areas as one of the financial institutions that has stayed,” said Mr Cornish.

“This support is very welcome and comes at just the right time to keep our noses above water and keep Garry flying for a bit longer.”
