EDUCANG Ltd, a partnership in education of the Uniting and Anglican Churches, has welcomed new Chief Executive Officer, Suzanne Bain.

A special commissioning service of Mrs Bain to her ministry as CEO of the EDUCANG schools was held in the Living Faith Chapel at the Alpine Place Campus of Forest Lake College earlier this week.

During the service, Mrs Bain was blessed by Rev’d Dr David Pitman, Moderator, Queensland Synod, Uniting Church in Australia.

Mrs Bain, who has an extensive background in education, has taught at all levels from infancy, primary, secondary, and special needs students, in conjunction with a number of strategic roles.

Prior to joining EDUCANG, Mrs Bain spent time as Executive Officer for The Grammar Schools of Queensland Association, Chair at the Ministry Education Commission of the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane, Chair of the Association of Independent Schools of Queensland Education Committee, and as Principal at Cannon Hill Anglican College.

In 2000, she established the consultancy, Facilitating Change, specialising in change management, strategic planning and leadership, research and performance management, and performance review and development to educational institutions, non-profit, and other organisations.

Mrs Bain said she was mindful of the great responsibility associated with her new role.

“We remain committed to providing a safe, caring, Christian environment focused on excellence in student learning outcomes,” she said.

“I am looking forward to working with staff, families, the board, and our two Churches to guide this organisation into the future.”

EDUCANG owns and operates several Colleges in the greater Brisbane region including Forest Lake College, The Springfield College, Mary McConnel School, The Lakes College and Forest Lake College International Centre.
